Netanyahu's former military secretary: Everything was known before the October 7 attack

Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - The former military secretary of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Major General Reserve Avi Gil, revealed new details regarding the warnings that preceded the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and what happened within Israeli decision-making circles before and after the attack.

Gil said, in an interview published by Israeli media, that there were dozens of warnings and signals before the October 7 attack, noting that information related to the Hamas movement’s preparations was available to the security authorities.

According to what was reported by the Israeli media about the interview, Gil also spoke about proposals made by the Israeli General Security Service “Shin Bet” before the war to target leaders in the Hamas movement, in addition to issues related to changing protocols during the war period.

Israeli journalist Yoav Limor, who conducted the interview, said that Gil chose to present the facts without making personal judgments, considering that what was stated in his testimony raises questions about how decisions were made in the period preceding the October 7 attack.

Limor also pointed out that Gil, who was close to Netanyahu, provided what he described as direct information about the warnings that reached the Israeli leadership, considering that this data raises questions about the leadership’s handling of the information that was available before the attack.

These statements come in light of the continuing controversy within Israel regarding responsibility for the failures that preceded the October 7 attack, amid demands for a comprehensive investigation into the method of collecting and transmitting intelligence information and making decisions based on it.
