Hebron - Afaq News - Israeli occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque today, Saturday, to citizens and commercial shops in the old town in the center of Hebron.
The occupation forces also tightened their military measures and closed all military checkpoints and electronic gates leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque to secure the celebrations of the settlers in the mosque and its courtyards.
Our correspondent confirmed that the occupation forces closed commercial shops in the old town of Hebron and intensified their presence at all entrances leading to the mosque to secure the settlers' access to the old city, the mosque, and the archaeological areas.
The occupation authorities also issued a military order today outlining the route of a march for settlers in the old town of Hebron, starting from the Al-Ain Al-Hamra area and passing through the Jabari neighborhood, the Awqaf Directorate, the Kurdish Diwan, the Zahid area, and the old municipal gate, reaching the land they seized on Al-Shalala Street in the center of Hebron and then returning along the same route.
The director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Mu'taz Abu Sneina, condemned the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque under the pretext of securing the settlers' celebration of the "Joy of the Torah and the Jewish Throne" holiday, considering it a blatant violation of its sanctity and a provocative assault on the rights of Muslims to access their places of worship.
On another note, settlers attacked the homes of the Shnaran family in Wadi al-Rakhim south of Yatta, assaulted them, and set fire to the hay bales belonging to the citizens near their homes.
It is worth mentioning that Jewish holidays are a nightmare that disrupts the lives of citizens in Hebron, especially as they coincide with significant violations perpetrated by the occupation forces, including imposing a siege, tightening military procedures at checkpoints, and obstructing citizens' access to their homes, particularly in the old town of Hebron and its surroundings.
