Iran has escalated its tone as it awaits the American response to its recent proposals, warning of continuing to prevent it from selling oil. Iranian chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said on Tuesday that failure to guarantee his country's security means that none of the infrastructure in the region will be safe from attacks.
Ghalibaf, who also serves as Speaker of Iran's Parliament, added in a video broadcast on Iranian state television: "In a region where we cannot sell oil, no other party will be able to sell oil either, or if our security is not guaranteed, no infrastructure will remain safe."
At the same time, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard attacked US President Donald Trump, describing him as a “big liar,” and considering that “the American people must be told the truth,” according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse.
He also considered that "America no longer has any choice but to declare failure and leave the region," as he put it.
This came after Trump denied earlier today that he had offered Iran to lift the naval blockade on its ports and release frozen Iranian assets abroad, in exchange for Tehran providing concrete concessions on the nuclear file.
While data from Kpler showed yesterday, Monday, that crude oil exports from the main producing countries in the Middle East rebounded in September to reach 16.328 million barrels per day, which is the highest level since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran last February. Preliminary data revealed that this recovery came in the wake of the recovery of exports through the Strait of Hormuz, which were expected to reach about 9.719 million barrels per day this month.
