Doha - Afaq News - The State of Qatar condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, and settlers, under the protection of the occupation police, considering it a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and an unacceptable provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized in a statement today, Sunday, that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that all unilateral measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities are null and void under international law.
It warned that the continuation of these violations and repeated provocations could inflame cycles of violence and escalation in the region, undermining opportunities for calm and stability, and renewed its call to the international community for urgent action to compel Israel to stop its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their sanctities, and to comply with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
The ministry also reaffirmed the State of Qatar's steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
