In light of the developments taking place in the region, the Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Hashimi, affirmed his country's support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stating: "We condemn the irresponsible approach taken by the Houthi group in targeting the Kingdom and Islamic sanctities and civilian objects, and we support all measures it takes to maintain its security and the safety of its territories."

He also affirmed Doha's support for any initiatives taken by countries in the region to maintain their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, including the "Makkah Alliance," noting that the coalition enhances regional cooperation regarding the preservation of capabilities and the stability of the countries in the region.

In this context, Al-Hashimi confirmed Qatar's support for any action that would maintain the security and stability of the region, clarifying that it is too early to talk about his country's joining the "Makkah Alliance."

On the other hand, Al-Hashimi confirmed that mediation efforts between the United States and Iran are ongoing and have not ceased, noting that they aim to achieve progress that can be built upon, covering various issues of interest between the two parties.

He explained that "discussions are ongoing, and there is an exchange of messages between Washington and Tehran, with Qatar acting as a mediator between the parties," emphasizing that resolving this issue requires maximum efforts to reach negotiable solutions, while considering the concerns of all parties.

Regarding the file of Iranian pilots, Al-Hashimi stated that Qatar has been "clear from the beginning" about dealing with the file, pointing out that the Iranian side has been informed of the latest developments.

He added that Doha is open to a visit from the Iranian side to review the measures that have been taken in this context.
