The local authority in the Yemeni Taiz Governorate condemned the bombing launched by the Houthi militias on the village of Al-Muqadda, in the Himyar Al-Jabal area in the Maqbanah District. According to a preliminary toll, it resulted in the killing of eight citizens, including women and children, and the injury of six others, while other victims are still under the rubble.
The local authority confirmed in a statement that the bombing of homes and civilian objects is a full-fledged war crime that cannot be obscured by lies or justified by a military pretext, and that the blood of the people of Al-Maqda confirms once again the terrorist nature of the Houthi militias.
She said that the war that was ignited by the militias and expanded its scope in Taiz Governorate caused harm to hundreds of thousands of citizens, and deepened their suffering from siege, displacement and loss of sources of livelihood. The militias bear full responsibility for these crimes and the repercussions of their continued aggression.
The local authority called on the people of the governorate to unite and reject Houthi recruitment and mobilization, and not to be drawn into its propaganda or facilitate its violations.
It also called on the United Nations and relevant organizations to condemn and document the crime, work to protect civilians, and hold those responsible accountable.
