Terminating Hossam Hassan’s contract with the Egyptian national team...and this is his alternative

The Egyptian Football Association announced, through its accounts on social media platforms, on Saturday, the termination of the contracts of the “Pharaohs” coach, Hossam Hassan, and the national team manager, his brother Ibrahim. The Egyptian Football Association thanked Hossam Hassan, his brother, and the members of the technical and administrative staff, wishing them success in their future career.

The Egyptian Federation decided to assign the duties of the technical director to Ali Maher during the next stage and presented his vision for forming the technical staff. The Egyptian Federation called on the fans and all supporters of the team to continue their support and rally around the team at this important stage.

Hossam Hassan and his brother were scheduled to stay until 2030, as their contract was renewed last September. Hossam Hassan took over as coach of his country’s national team in February 2024, and since then he has achieved 21 wins, 7 defeats and 10 draws.

Hossam Hassan led Mohamed Salah’s teammates to reach the round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup, which was held in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, for the first time in the history of the “Pharaohs” team.
