The alternative aircraft belonging to "Fly Dubai" landed on Wednesday evening at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, carrying passengers from the flight that had to change its course due to an incident that occurred inside the cockpit.
The aircraft landed at Ben Gurion Airport at 15:34 GMT, while Israeli media reported that 174 passengers were on board the flight, including 27 children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the passengers at Ben Gurion Airport, according to Israeli media, while a spokesman for his office stated that he had instructed to intensify security measures on board Israeli and non-Israeli airline flights.
Netanyahu had previously announced that one of the pilots on board the flight attempted to crash the plane, while Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the incident as "an attempted terrorist attack."
Netanyahu stated in a video message that one of the pilots "stabbed his colleague and apparently tried to bring down the plane with everyone on board," noting that the incident occurred while the aircraft was approaching Israel. He praised the passengers who intervened to subdue the attacker, saying they contributed to "avoiding a major disaster."
In contrast, Fly Dubai stated that the incident involved a "dispute in the cockpit," confirming that the reasons for the dispute and the emergency landing "are still unknown and are under official investigation," and that all passengers are fine.
It is noted that flight "FZ 1073" was forced to land at Tabuk Airport after it was crossing the skies on its way from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
According to data from the flight tracking website "Flight Radar 24," the aircraft lost altitude suddenly during the flight, dropping from about 34,000 feet at 5:21 GMT to less than 17,000 feet after one minute.
Passengers on board the aircraft reported witnessing a dispute inside the cockpit, with some mentioning that one of the pilots was stabbed and lost control of the plane for a brief period before passengers and crew members intervened.
