The occupation continues to close the northern entrance to Salfit for the second day, depriving thousands of patients of health services

Salfit - Ofoq News - The Israeli occupation forces continue to close the main northern entrance to the city of Salfit, for the second day in a row, using an iron gate, which hinders the movement of citizens, especially patients who depend on health services provided by medical institutions in the city.

Citizens reported that the closure impedes the access of people from neighboring villages and towns to the city, and limits their ability to access official institutions and basic services.

For his part, Director General of Salfit Health, Dr. Haitham Mansour, said that the repeated closure of the northern entrance led to thousands of patients being deprived of health services, and affected the work of the facilities affiliated with the Health Directorate.

Mansour explained that the closure impedes the access of health personnel to 13 clinics and emergency centers affiliated with the directorate, and also prevents the delivery of medicines, medical consumables and children’s vaccines to health facilities, and affects the work of field teams and environmental inspection teams.

He added that the restrictions imposed on movement make it difficult for patients and visitors to reach the Health Directorate and Salfit Governmental Hospital, which is the only government hospital in the governorate, which increases their suffering and affects their access to the necessary medical care.

This closure exacerbates the suffering of citizens in Salfit and its surroundings, in light of its repercussions on various aspects of life, especially the health sector, which requires easy movement of patients and medical personnel and ensuring the regular arrival of treatment supplies.
