A video clip circulating on social media brought the Egyptian artist Adel Imam back into the circle of controversy, after its publishers claimed that it documented the most recent appearance of “The Leader,” before the verification process revealed a surprise.

An elderly person appeared in the circulating video sitting inside a private car and pointing with his hands to the crowd gathered around him, raising a state of widespread controversy and questions about the truth of the video and the health status of the Egyptian artist, given the close similarity between the features of the person appearing in the clip and an imam.

However, a source close to the family of the artist Adel Imam denied the validity of his appearance “entirely and in detail,” stressing that “the big star is settled inside his home and has not left it over the past months, as he spends his time among his family members, away from any social or artistic events.”

In addition, the source indicated in statements to Al Arabiya.net that “Adel Imam’s last public appearance was during the wedding of his grandson Adel, the son of director Rami Imam,” stressing that “his health condition is very good, and he does not suffer from any serious health crises, as some have said on social media platforms.”

Upon investigation into the truth of the circulating video, it was found that it had been modified using artificial intelligence techniques to bring the features of the person appearing in it closer to those of Adel Imam. Note that the real video belongs to the famous Indian screenwriter Salim Khan, the father of the Bollywood star Salman Khan, as he was spotted by cameras in the city of Mumbai while he was in his car after the end of an artistic event.

It is noteworthy that the last work of the artist Adel Imam, who is 86 years old, was the series “Valentino”, which was shown in 2020. A group of stars participated in the series, including Dalal Abdel Aziz, Hamdi Al-Mirghani, and Hoda Al-Mufti. It was written by Ayman Bahjat Qamar and directed by Rami Imam.

For years, Adel Imam has stayed away from public appearances and participation in artistic events, and has been absent from the media scene almost completely, with the exception of limited family appearances, which has made any photos or clips that allegedly document his new appearance receive wide attention from his fans.
