The Yemeni Ministry of Defense has issued an urgent warning to citizens and drivers of vehicles and civilian transport to avoid passing through 19 main and secondary roads and axes in Taiz Governorate and neighboring provinces until further notice, attributing the decision to the use of those roads for military movements and supplies by the Houthi group.
The official spokesperson for the armed forces clarified in a notice issued today, Friday, that this directive comes out of concern for the safety of civilians and their property, avoiding the risks of military operations, urging compliance with the notice and not approaching the movements or gatherings and vehicles of the group.
The list of warned roads includes vital routes connecting Taiz with neighboring provinces and coastal axes, most notably the roads (Sanaa-Dhamar-Ibb-Al-Qaidah-Al-Huban), (Al-Dhakrah Junction - Al-Sittin - Sharab Al-Runah Junction - Sharab Al-Salam Junction) and (Al-Huban-Al-Rahdah-Hayfan), and (Al-Kadhah-Mawza-Al-Wazi'ah-Al-Makha), in addition to connecting lines through Al-Aqroud, Sam'ah, Jabal Habashi, Al-Rubai'i, and Al-Barah.
The military leadership confirmed that these measures are precautionary and temporary to protect civilians, calling for following the instructions and official announcements regarding alternative and safe routes.
