U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his call to put an end to the Ukrainian-Russian war, which he described as ridiculous, immediately before his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Trump said in a post on his platform "Truth Social" today, Monday, that Russia "has lost control of its diesel fuel sector due to the explosion of a large number of its diesel-producing refineries, and they are now, at least temporarily, out of service."
He also added, "This ridiculous war with Ukraine must come to an end."
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed earlier that his country hopes to resume trilateral talks on Ukraine and make another attempt to achieve its goals through peaceful means. However, he pointed out that there is currently no progress regarding the resumption of trilateral talks (Russia, America, and Ukraine).
Peskov also considered that the U.S. law imposing sanctions on Russian oil and gas exports, which the press described as "hellish sanctions," does not contribute to reviving bilateral relations or making progress towards resolving the Ukrainian conflict. He said during a press briefing: "This does not contribute to reviving our relations, and it is unlikely to contribute to achieving more successful progress towards a Ukrainian settlement."
