Washington - Afaq News - U.S. President Donald Trump made a surprising return from Camp David to the White House on Saturday, a day earlier than previously announced, coinciding with rising tensions in the Middle East.
The U.S. administration did not provide an explanation for the change in the president's schedule, moving his return from Sunday to Saturday.
Alongside his return, the U.S. State Department renewed its warning to its citizens throughout the Middle East about a potential escalation, pointing to Houthi attacks on civilian airports in Saudi Arabia.
Changes in travel schedules during weekends are not unusual, and weather forecasts indicated the possibility of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday in the mountainous Camp David area of Maryland.
Trump's return coincided with the issuance of security warnings by the State Department and several U.S. embassies in the Middle East about the "potential for unexpected escalation."
The warnings referred to the attacks carried out by Iran-backed Houthis on Saudi Arabia, including targeting civilian airports, urging Americans outside the Middle East to seriously reconsider traveling to or passing through the region.
