US President Donald Trump told Benjamin Netanyahu that he expects him to achieve a "landslide" victory in next week's elections, in a phone call broadcast by the Israeli Prime Minister on Monday, the day after Trump announced his support for him.

One day after Trump announced his support for Netanyahu in the elections scheduled for October 27, the Israeli Prime Minister posted a video in which the two men can be heard exchanging words of praise during a phone call.

Trump can be heard on the call, which Netanyahu put on speakerphone, saying, "I think you're going to win by a landslide, actually."

He also adds, addressing Netanyahu by his nickname, “Bibi, you are the person I want by my side.”

In the call, he described Trump as "the greatest friend Israel has ever had, by a long shot."

When Netanyahu alerted the US President that the call was taking place over an open line, he praised Trump for joining Israel in attacking Iran, a goal Netanyahu has sought for decades.

"Donald, we have a mission to accomplish. We will accomplish it together. We will accomplish it, and no one else will do it," Netanyahu said.

The Israeli Prime Minister did not provide any details, but again described the regime in Iran as "the greatest danger."
