US President Donald Trump once again directed his threats against Iran, hinting at the possibility of launching new strikes. Trump said in a post on his “Truth Social” platform on Sunday, “Iran has been subjected to devastating blows.”
But he warned: “If it does not change its approach quickly, we will complete the mission soon,” indicating the possibility of resuming the war.
In addition, he expressed his full and absolute support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his upcoming race for re-election as Prime Minister.
Trump also considered that "if Netanyahu does not win the elections, the states will be forced to carry out the mission against Iran themselves." He added: "I'm not inclined to do that."
Netanyahu responded to this support, thanking Trump for his support. He wrote in a tweet on his VX account: “Thank you, President Trump, for the tremendous support and joint work.. Together we will accomplish the mission!”
This warning came as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed earlier today that the offer made by his country to open the Strait of Hormuz is still on the table. Araqchi explained in press statements that the American side made some amendments, while his country is still waiting for a response through mediators.
The American warning also came, while the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, said that Iran had prepared a more destructive plan than the previous two wars if the “enemies” took any adventure. Rezaei wrote in a tweet on the X platform, “The repeated threats made by American officials these days do not change the reality on the ground.” He pointed out that "Iran's new operational plan will not follow the rules they know," as he put it.
The US President had previously confirmed that he would not direct any new strikes against Iranian sites before the end of the midterm congressional elections, expected on November 3.
Netanyahu also expressed in a previous interview a few days ago his refusal to launch a new round of war against Iran before the American and Israeli elections scheduled for October 27, given its repercussions on these entitlements at the present time.
