The U.S. Secretary of Defense said on Saturday that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz, but we do, adding that President Trump keeps all options on the table.
Secretary Heigseith stated that the blockade on Iran remains tight and strict.
Heigseith said that Iran must make the right decision and change its course.
The Secretary of Defense confirmed that the mission against Iran is not like previous wars and will not last indefinitely.
Axios reported that senior members of President Donald Trump's administration held a secret meeting at the presidential retreat at Camp David on Friday to discuss the next steps regarding the war with Iran and the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The site quoted informed sources stating that Vice President J.D. Vance chaired the meeting.
The report noted that the Trump administration did not announce this unusual meeting at all.
The last time a similar meeting was held was in June 2025, just days before Israel launched a war against Iran.
Among the other participants, according to the report, were Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine.
One of the officials said - referring to the crisis in the Middle East -: "Decisions have been made or at least in-depth discussions have taken place."
The White House declined to comment.
