U.S. War Secretary: The U.S. Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is 'Very Tight'

Washington - Afaq News - U.S. Secretary of Defense "Pete Hegseth" stated that the American blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is "very tight," and that "all necessary options are available to President Donald Trump if Iran continues to manipulate the strait," as he put it.

Hegseth added in statements to reporters: "Iran wants to manipulate matters like the Strait of Hormuz; they do not control it, we are the ones who have control over it."

He continued: "They have not actually succeeded in passing anything; our blockade is very tight, and we are managing traffic through the strait at levels close to those that prevailed before the war, which is evident from the volume of flow."

He went on to say: "Therefore, we feel that we are in a very strong position. Iran must make the right choice, and if it does not, all necessary options will be available to the U.S. President, but he will not allow these matters to drag on unnecessarily; he understands the nature of the mission, and we are capable of accomplishing it whenever we are asked to do so."

The U.S. Secretary of Defense also indicated that Trump is "completely determined" to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Higseth said: "The message is very simple: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and President Trump is determined and completely committed to ensuring that they do not have it, and they will not have it."
