"AI Force and Caesar".. Trump announces his plans regarding artificial intelligence

- U.S. President Donald Trump revealed on Saturday that he plans to form an "AI Force" and appoint a high-ranking official (Caesar) to oversee it, amid increasing calls for the government to impose regulatory controls on the rapid development of artificial intelligence. Trump reiterated in a post on his platform "Truth Social" his view that concerns regarding artificial intelligence are merely a "hoax," but he also acknowledged some of the risks posed by this technology, stating: "We will also work to monitor bad practices, and we can easily do this through our existing criminal and civil justice system."

Trump added: "For this purpose, I am forming the AI Force, just as I did with the Space Force, which achieved tremendous success during my first term. To this end, I will soon announce the name of the AI Caesar; only individuals with high IQs will be eligible to run for this position."

In contrast, Democrats have been more vocal in their calls to slow the pace of artificial intelligence development; former President Barack Obama urged potential Democratic presidential candidates to place artificial intelligence at the core of their 2028 election platforms.
