Ramallah - Ofoq News - Lieutenant General Jibril met on Tuesday, October 20, with the President of the Parliamentary Friendship Society and former Foreign Minister Taro Kono and members of Parliament in the Friendship Society to discuss Japan’s recognition of the State of Palestine, in the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador to Japan, Ambassador Walid Siam.
The team presented the members of the association with the latest developments in Palestine and the Palestinian leadership’s commitment to the PLO program and working to conduct reconciliation and national dialogue in accordance with this program in a way that serves the interest of the Palestinian people by ending the occupation and establishing the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders.
The members of the association called for working to push the Japanese government to recognize the State of Palestine, as this is more important than promoting hope, protecting the two-state solution, and establishing peace in the Middle East.
He stated that Japan's recognition, as other countries such as France, Britain and Spain have recognized, is to strengthen and protect the two-state solution, and the present time is the most appropriate time for that.
