A video that circulated on social media platforms in recent days sparked widespread interaction in Egypt, as it showed an elderly patient performing prayer inside one of the intensive care rooms with the help of a nurse.
According to local media, the nurse, named Ali Mohamed, assisted the patient in standing to perform the prayer after confirming his health ability to do so, and he also asked for permission before filming the moment and documenting it.
Kawthar Mahmoud, the head of the nursing syndicate, revealed that the syndicate contacted the nurse after the video went viral and decided to honor him at the headquarters of the General Nursing Syndicate, granting him a financial reward in appreciation of his humanitarian stance.
Mahmoud also added that the syndicate contacted the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Badr University, Hassan Al-Qala, to discuss granting the nurse a scholarship to the College of Nursing, enabling him to continue his studies and advance from a nursing technician to a nursing specialist.
