- Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a phone call from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, addressing the Houthi group’s attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, according to what the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement on Tuesday, that Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed during the call “the UAE’s condemnation of these attacks, stressing his country’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support in everything that would preserve its security and stability.”
During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest developments, their regional repercussions, and the efforts made by the countries to deal with them. On Monday, Saudi Arabia announced that it had intercepted and destroyed 3 ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis, just two days after a Houthi attack on the airport that killed at least 13 people and injured more than 300 others, in one of the bloodiest attacks the Kingdom has been exposed to in more than a decade.
