Washington - Ofoq News - The Financial Times published a report in which it said, “The Israeli army planned to carry out attacks on Iran about a week and a half ago, to target civilian infrastructure, such as power plants, nuclear facilities, and other targets.”
The newspaper said in its report, "US President Donald Trump stopped the attack sought by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."
The Financial Times attributed the information it published about Netanyahu's plan to three sources, which stated, "The attack was planned for Saturday, October 10, 2026, and was supposed to be more severe than the attack during the previous war."
The newspaper quoted one of the three sources as saying, “The United States and Israel may resume the war on Iran in the coming weeks,” and added: “There will either be an agreement or an attack.”
A source among the three reported, according to the newspaper, that “Israel has established a new target bank, which includes civilian targets that have not been previously targeted.”
Another source suggested that the plan drawn up in Israel aims to put pressure on Iran within the framework of negotiations, which are not actually taking place at the present time.
For her part, Anna Kelly, deputy spokeswoman for the White House, told the Financial Times that "Iran is in a very bad situation, both militarily and economically."
She added, "The United States will not launch an attack on Iran before the midterm elections."
Despite this, the Israeli army remained on high alert for several weeks, until it announced on Monday the imposition of a vacation ban on all its units starting tomorrow, before the elections scheduled for next Tuesday.
