For the 14th day in a row, Operation “Yemen Dawn” continues, at a time when the fighting fronts in the Taiz and Lahj governorates witnessed violent confrontations between government forces and the Houthi militia, in conjunction with air strikes targeting militia military sites and vehicles.
On the Kahboub front in Lahj Governorate, violent clashes broke out between the National Shield Forces, with the support of the Southern Giants forces, and the Houthi militias, following an attempt by Houthi elements to infiltrate towards the front from the Al-Wazi’iyah District, west of Taiz Governorate, according to field sources.
The Yemeni government forces denied the validity of the reports promoted by the Houthi militia regarding field progress in the Kahboub Mountains in Lahj Governorate, stressing that these allegations were not true, in conjunction with the continuing confrontations on the fighting fronts in the region.
As for the western front of the city of Taiz, clashes renewed on the fronts of the Old Airport, Jabal Han, and Al-Saleh Gardens, where government forces and the popular resistance confronted Houthi attacks targeting their positions.
In southern Taiz, warplanes launched air strikes on Houthi sites and military vehicles on the Al Shaqab front in Jabal Sabr, while the Yemeni army and popular resistance carried out an ambush targeting Houthi members in the Al-Muqadda area, on the Al-Aqroud front in Al-Misrakh district, south of the governorate, resulting in the killing and wounding of 12 members of the Houthi militia.
In addition, on Saturday evening, warplanes launched more than 3 air strikes targeting Houthi sites in the Mokha region, while military sources reported that an air strike targeted a militia arms shipment off the northern coast of the city of Al-Khawkhah, south of Hodeidah Governorate.
These developments came in light of the continuation of Operation “Yemen Dawn” launched by the Yemeni forces about two weeks ago, with the aim of regaining control over Yemeni lands and extending state authority, amid intensifying confrontations on several fronts, from Taiz to Ma’rib and Al-Jawf, following the progress made by the Yemeni forces on the western coast.
